Donate Smarter, Not Just More

Thrift stores truly appreciate donations—but quality matters more than quantity. When unusable items are donated, stores have to spend time and money sorting and disposing of them, which can take away from their mission.

Before donating, ask yourself:

    •    Is it clean?

    •    Is it safe?

    •    Would I buy this in its current condition?

If the answer is no, it’s better to recycle, repurpose, or dispose of the item responsibly.

Donating thoughtfully helps thrift stores help others—and keeps unnecessary waste out of landfills.

  • Please bring your donations to the rear door of Restored located at 10088 N 600 E Roselawn, IN. Please knock on the donation door, and a volunteer will assist you with your donations. Donations may not be left outside the door.

  • Donations can be brought in bags, boxes or containers that are no longer needed. We will not be able to unpack your donations and return your containers or boxes.

  • Donations can be dropped off during store hours: Tuesday 9am-7pm, Wednesday 9am-3pm, Thursday 9am-7pm, Friday 9am-3pm & Saturday 9am-3pm. Please do not leave donations outside of the door after hours. Note: that donation drop-offs will end 30 minutes prior to closing.

  • At this time, Restored is unable to provide pickup of large items. All donations must be brought to the store.

  • We WILL accept clean, gently used, and new items.

  • We are unable to accept items that are stained, need repair or missing pieces. Items must not smell of smoke, mildew, or mothballs.

    We WILL NOT accept:

    -Damaged or Non-working Items

    -Appliances

    -Baby Items: car seats, cribs, high chairs, swings, strollers, walkers, etc.

    -Computer Equipment: hard drives, monitors, printers, scanners, etc.

    -Large Exercise Equipment: treadmills, stationary bikes, etc.

    -Mattresses

    -Pianos or Organs

    -TVs

    -VHS tapes & Cassette tapes

    -Weapons: knives, firearms, etc.

    -Entertainment Centers

  • Yes. Restored is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Upon request, we will provide a signed donation receipt for you to fill out.
